Del maravigliarsi

"A list of anatomical questions drawn up by Leonardo is translated into a strongly withdrawn, almost introverted music of concentrated vocal, sound and noise actions at the limits of perception.

The one-movement composition consists of finely crafted events that run along the text excerpt from Leonardo's diaries in an almost arch-like progression, either solo or together, using differentiated singing and playing techniques.

The calligraphically and rhythmically sophisticated notation is full of detailed information and, supported by an extensive preface, requires intensive familiarization. Duration: approx. 11 minutes, level of difficulty: very difficult.

The composition is only suitable for very experienced performers and requires a high degree of control in the handling of voice and instrument; in the sense of an 'etude in openness' (Johnson), the music remains unpredictable and dispenses with any theatricality."
