"The collection comprises 25 piano aphorisms, extremely disparate in musical terms, which were presented to the composer Horst Lohse (*1943) as a birthday gift by friends and companions from different countries and generations.
Based on a wide variety of aesthetic approaches, each of the one-movement pieces revolves around specific tone letters, tonal ideas or musical characters associated with the composer.
The spectrum ranges from the simplest musical notation to complex, rhythmically interlaced modes of presentation on three to five staves and partially graphic notation. ...
The collection provides insights into different contemporary styles and pianistic levels of difficulty, the pieces are suitable for enriching concert programs as well as for didactic use in music schools and universities."
